My name is Lucas Anderson and I live in Melbourne, Australia. To save myself from updating my age every year, I will just say that I was born in 1988.
First and foremost, I identify as an international socialist and am involved in activist and campaign work in Melbourne.
Currently I am studying Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) at Swinburne University of Technology. I am a year in and have 2 left. I was also elected into the Swinburne Student Union as the welfare officer by a landslide of 400 votes over the campus right on the basis of the work I and people I work with have done around the issue of racism in Australia.
I enjoy a variety of music like jazz/fusion (Mahuvishnu Orchestra, Modern Jazz Quartet), blues (Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker), classical (Carl Orff, The Penguin Cafe Orchestra), punk (Circle Jerks, DRI) and a little bit of heavy metal.
Also, I like movies and don’t read much outside political stuff (not out of principal, I just can’t be bothered).
So, In closing. Hopefully this blog will serve to be a platform for my critique of certain social phenomenon’s sweeping the circles that I move and shake in. It will also be a(nother) outlet for me to voice my political opinion on events and ideas gripping the world (past and present).
Many, many music releases and movies will be criticized or praised on here also.
But more importantly, I will hardly update this blog.
